Just what I was looking for, January 4, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: LapWorks Z-Lift Desk Stand w/One Large Fan (Black); Completely Adjustable Incline & Elevation (Personal Computers) I was looking for a laptop stand that I could use to hold my laptop on my desk, next to another monitor. This is just what I needed. The only complaint I have is that I'd like to be able to turn off the fan, but still use the USB hub. I just don't see a need to use the fan unless i'm running 3D graphics with my laptop.

It is very well made and does an excellent job keeping my laptop (Dell Elitebook 8440p) up at my eye level. I can place the lift at most any angle and height (up to the max, of course) and my laptop stays put-it is very stable. I really chose this item since it allowed me to raise my laptop higher than most - and adjust the tilt angle. The built-in cooling fan is quiet and you don't have to plug it in if you don't want too. In my opinion, this is a 'no compromises' lift and probably costs more because it is so well made. The only thing I would say took a little gettng used to is the overall 'tightness' of the stand (this allows the laptop to 'stay' in the desired position). I would recommend this product 100%.
