i got the stand for my girlfriend's Acer. we found that it doesn't work very well with the Acer because the laptop has a rounded leading edge on the bottom. this means that unfortunately the bottom rides up - and over - the stop that is supposed to keep the laptop from sliding down the tray. an extra 3/8" - 1/2" more height would have been enough to prevent this. the aforementioned is only a problem is the tray is @ more than a 20+ degree angle (which seems to be most of the time). if flat, it's okay.
fortunately, i have a Toshiba brand laptop - with a square edge bottom - and it fits perfectly. i've had the angle set as high as 70 degrees with no problems of slippage. my Toshiba is a 15.6", lighter weight laptop.
when i unpacked i was immediately dissapointed because of the very lightweight and overall chinsy feeling of the unit. all the tubing is hollow, light weight aluminum, as is the tray... Read more

The only inconvenience comes with setting the legs but once set , it can never fold accidentally and stays stable all times. Good product!

I think it is exactly what I was looking for. I do wish the aluminum was thicker and more substantial though. There is no way it would support my 12 lb. workstation class laptop, but that's not what I bought this for. It is ideal for my netbook and eventually I will get a tablet which will make this even better. It works very well sitting in a chair (with arms) like in an airport, great for lazy days/nights on the sofa and best of all in the bed while watching TV and emailing and surfing the web...that's the #1 reason I got it. It is infinity adjustable and works well for a normal sized adult. You're not going to want to bear too much weight on it and yes, it can be a bit flimsy but considering what it is, I think it is perfectly acceptable. I really like the overall design and practicality. I would recommend the product to most folks. Just use common sense while using it and it should last a long time.
